As part of our Business Intern Program, Ecclesiastical sponsors Interns for the successful completion of the Chartered Insurance Professional Program (CIP). Provided by the Insurance Institute of Canada and leading to an internationally recognized, professional designation, CIP emphasizes the interaction of practical and theoretical knowledge.
The program consists of 10 courses:
- Five mandatory courses that establish a solid foundation in general insurance
- Three applied professional courses chosen from Underwriter, Claims, Broker and Agent streams
- Two electives chosen from over 20 available courses
Courses can be taken at the Insurance Institute or at an approved college. They are also available through on-line distance learning. A final national exam – scheduled periodically throughout the year – must be written for each course.
Graduates of the CIP course are represented by the Chartered Insurance Professionals (CIP) Society. A division of the Insurance Institute of Canada, the Society offers continuing professional development, information services and a variety of events.
